Iran’s Missile Power Rewrites Equations: Top MP Hails ‘New Page’ in Balance of Power After Dimona Strike

A senior Iranian lawmaker says the Islamic Republic’s precision missile strike on the Dimona nuclear site in the occupied territories has fundamentally altered the global perception of Iran’s military capabilities, marking the emergence of a “new page” in the balance of power.

Hawzah News Agency- Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, stated that the successful operation has shattered the misconception that US military dominance and crippling sanctions could hinder Iran’s advanced technological development.

“The balance of power in the Ramadan War has changed,” Boroujerdi said, referring to the shifting dynamics on the ground. He noted that the public perception had been shaped by the idea that the United States possessed the world’s largest army, while Iran, under sanctions, lacked advanced aerial technology. “Trump attacked Iran based on this illusion, but that perception has now changed,” he asserted.

The lawmaker highlighted Iran’s growing prowess in missile and drone technology as a key factor countering the enemy’s aerial superiority. He pointed to the retreat of US aircraft carrier strike groups following Iranian missile fire and underscored what he described as a historic first: the downing of an advanced F-35 fighter jet by Iranian air defense units.

“For the first time, the Islamic Republic of Iran successfully shot down the ultra-modern F-35, astonishing the world,” Boroujerdi stated. He added that several other US aircraft were also damaged, marking a significant shift in the initial assessments of Iran’s defensive and offensive capabilities.

Strategic Strike on Dimona

Boroujerdi described the missile operation against Dimona—carried out in response to the enemy’s “reckless” attack on the Natanz nuclear facility—as a major victory. He explained that the strike was executed after “blinding the enemy’s eyes” and neutralizing regional radar systems, demonstrating Tehran’s sophisticated military planning.

Despite intense information censorship by the enemy, Boroujerdi said the scale of damage in Dimona could not be concealed. Citing unofficial reports, he noted that approximately 200 individuals were injured in the strike.

“Since yesterday, a new page in the balance of power has emerged,” he declared.

Strategic Straits and US Retreat

The Iranian official also addressed the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz, stating that Iran’s intelligent control over the waterway has placed the US administration in a difficult position. He claimed that Washington has been forced to seek assistance from its European allies, only to receive a negative response.

Boroujerdi issued a stark warning regarding recent US threats, emphasizing that all of the Israeli regime’s energy infrastructure lies within easy reach of Iranian missiles. “If they commit this folly, another defeat will be recorded for these countries,” he cautioned, expressing confidence that the signs of an ultimate victory are evident.

National Unity and Resilience

Elsewhere in his remarks, Boroujerdi highlighted the deep bond between the Iranian people and the Islamic establishment, noting that the nation’s resilience has only strengthened in the face of adversity.

He pointed out that, unlike other nations where the loss of military commanders might fracture defense structures, Iran’s unity and motivation have grown exponentially. He described the country’s missile arsenal as the most powerful in the world and predicted that the post-war era would yield a new Islamic Republic, more advanced in both military and economic spheres.

Rejection of Foreign Military Bases

Boroujerdi concluded by addressing Iran’s relationship with its neighbors, expressing appreciation for their condolences and solidarity. Echoing the stance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, he stressed the importance of distinguishing between regional nations and the illegitimate US military bases in the region.

“These bases must leave the region,” Boroujerdi asserted. He argued that recent developments have proven that American military installations do not provide security but instead undermine it. He called for a new economic roadmap for the post-war period, leveraging Iran’s vast resources to secure a bright and prosperous future.
